The parish of St Helen with St Martin

St Martin is one of two churches in the parish, the other being St Helen Stonegate. It is a small city centre parish with a tiny resident population but the centre of city life and the historic seat of government. There are about 4 million visits a year made to York and the great majority pass through the parish.

The Parochial Church Council

The church is run by the St Helen with St Martin PCC. For an oversight of how we see ourselves and the future see our 2010 mid-year review entitled Transcending the Parish.

Our new life together

We shared a vicar with St Olave from 1995 until his retirement in 2008, and before then a priest with All Saints Pavement. We are now united with All Saints Pavement, St Denys and St Olave under a new priest Jane Nattrass.
